The argument
An image is more than a statue. It is an authorized identity made visible, speakable, worshipable, and enforceable. The conciliar construction preserves the name Jesus while placing Apollo-like radiance, divine selfhood, imperial lordship, and sacramental presence inside it.
Why it matters
The name alone cannot settle identity. The image must be tested by Yeshua's own relation to his God.
What this teaching does not claim
Comparative iconography supports a case only when function, composition, history, and theology converge; visual resemblance alone is insufficient.
